Case Study — Identity and Branding

Project Objective

In this situation, software developers, IT engineers, project managers, and testers simply could not locate what they needed without intensive digging. These employees required such departmental tools and documents to complete their assignments, yet each individual continually wasted valuable time searching within five separate internal online locations. Duplicate, poorly named, outdated, and lost material also made it difficult to determine the most current iterations and whether or not anything had undergone a successful peer review.

Applied Expertise

At the beginning of this 10-month contract, Lisa Livingston interviewed 20+ departmental employees to listen to their current frustrations, analyze their preferences, and provide best-practice solutions. She created a cohesive design and editorial tone for every technical documentation process and artifact. During the execution phase of this project, Ms. Livingston completed a 65-page website that offered immediate access to the exactly what every team member had requested. In the project closeout, she trained the team to use the new online tool and outlined a systematic plan for future improvements.

Recognized Benefit

By developing consistent naming conventions, logical file placement, recognizable branding, and an easy-to-learn user interface, your own team can also become more efficient almost immediately. As an added benefit - through tight writing and skillful editing - your department will adopt a more professional attitude, experience more positive business relationships, and enhance its overall reputation among other groups throughout the company.
